About Our Practice

Dayne Goetsch Physiotherapy is a practice focused on assisting every client to reach their full potential. Whether you are a top performing athlete, business person, office worker, geriatric or are suffering from pain and injury. We believe that everyone deserves to have their body performing at an optimal level.

Daily, our bodies are put under enormous amounts of stress. This can lead to poor movement through ineffective compensation patterns in the body. Ultimately, these compensations cause areas of overload. Overload leads to pain and injury.

Through effective assessment and treatment, poor movement compensations can be corrected. By addressing the cause of injury instead of only the symptoms, long lasting results can be achieved.

A resilient body is what DG Physiotherapy is all about!

"The complexity of the body is fascinating and brings with it the opportunity for life long learning. No person is the same, neither is their pain. Each person: a new puzzle needing to be solved."

About Dayne

Dayne started his Physiotherapy career at Dundee Hospital where he completed his community service year in 2016. The following year, he moved to Hillcrest and accepted a job at CW Physios at the Hillcrest Busamed Hospital.

During Dayne’s time at CW Physios, he gained valuable experience treating a variety of patients in the hospital as well as in the outpatient rooms. From there, he was able to shape his skills and discover his special interests in physiotherapy.

He was introduced to the fascinating world of Be Activated (muscle activations) by Carel Wildenboer who became his mentor. Carel showed Dayne how to implement these techniques to get the best results for his patients. This opened his eyes to the intricacies of the fascial system and the body’s unique ability to adapt when the correct techniques are applied.

After 5 years of private practice experience, Dayne made the decision to start a physio practice of his own, opening DG Physiotherapy in Kloof in 2022.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Be Activated?

The Be Activated system allows for the body to move the way it was intended to. The right muscle performing it’s designed task at the right time. We see remarkable results, whether it is working with the everyday office worker or the social and elite sportsperson.

Activations are used with great success in many conditions including, but not limited to: chronic pain (headache, lower back and neck pain); persistent injuries; overuse injuries (including plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, Achilles tendinopathies, shin splints); TMJ dysfunction; acute injuries; neurological conditions; respiratory complications. Where ineffective movement or breathing is the underlying cause of reduced performance, overload, pain and injury – Be Activated is indicated. When we restore the way in which the body is supposed to move, it leads to massive improvement on various levels.

These techniques have been successfully used with many high level sports teams and groups as well as individual athletes such as the Springboks, Blue Bulls, Sharks, Miami Dolphins (American football), Galaxy Football (Soccer), Grigora Athletics, Drakensberg Boys Choir, etc.

You can Call/WhatsApp our receptionist on 068 678 6265, alternatively you can email or complete our contact form on the website.

Do you accept Medical Aid?

DG Physiotherapy is a cash-based practice. We charge Medical Aid rates and patients are able to claim back directly from their Medical Aid provider.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your initial consultation will be 1 hour in duration. We ask that you arrive at the clinic 15 mins before your appointment to complete some questionnaires about your general health, your symptoms and how they are affecting your life. If you are having ongoing treatment, these questionnaires will be repeated at periodic intervals to monitor your progress.

After completing the questionnaires, your physiotherapist will listen to your history and ask you about your symptoms, and your expectations for recovery. They will then examine the area and perform a series of tests that may include movement and strength testing. It is advisable to wear clothing that will enable the physiotherapist to see and test the area of concern. After examining you, the physiotherapist will discuss their findings and your treatment options with you. You will have the opportunity to talk to them about any specific concerns you may have.  Occasionally further imaging investigations or tests may be needed to help to determine the best management for your condition.
